2025 World Sight Day: NOA Advocates Eye Healthcare Consciousness

National Orientation Agency has called on governments and general public to be more proactive in accessing and providing effective eyes healthcare services to avoid unnecessary blindness in the country.

 

The Directorate, NOA Jigawa state Mallam Ahmad Tijjani Ibrahim made the called in a press statement issued in Dutse , in commemoration of 2025 World Sight Day.

 

He said. eyes is one of the important sense organs that keep human being to be productive, while losing it randaered person to be disable, and some time liability to others.

 

.Malam Ibrahim noted that, good vision is key to productivity, safety and quality of life and inview of that every one must be conscious and take care of his eyes against any harmful practice.

 

The NOA boss said millions of Nigeria suffer from preventable treatable eye problems due to lack of eye health consciousness or access to effective healthcare services, , therefore he promised to embark on public enlightenment in collaboration with governments, public and private stakeholders to tackle the problem

 

The Director b,, encouraged citizens to embrace safe eye health practices such a regular eye check-up as early detection can prevent avoidable blindness, eat food that strengthen the eyes such as fruits and vegetables such carrot, oranges and leafy greens, ensure exposure to safe lightening, limit screen time and routine vision screening for both adults and children at the nearest hospitals.
