Jigawa To Award N1.2 Billion Contract For Solar Powered Street Light

Jigawa state government through its ministry for renewable energy has opened tender for the award of N1.2 billion contract for supply and installation of street light.

Speaking at the tender opening for the award of contract held at the conference hall of the minister, the state commissioner for Renewable Energy Hon Engr Surajo Musa said, will be executed in Dutse capital and Hadejia city.

He explained that the project was not only for beautifying the places but also for enhancing the security of the beneficiaries areas.

“The project is part of Governor Malam Umar Namadi 12 point agenda which included using all measures required to protect life and properties of Jigawa citizens, and certainly the provision of such street light will fortify the security of the areas”

” Beside Dutse capital and Hadejia, there are many towns and cities that similar project is being carryout presently in the state for strengthening Peace security and betterment of Jigawa citizens ” Hon Surajo stated

The commissioner however assured the participating contractors that, the minister will uphold with due process procurement act on selecting the winner, and also plaged to ensure Jigawa state has fullfiled it’s contractual obligations including timely payment.

He also warned the contractors that, Government will not condoned any act of breaching contractual agreement such as delay tactics, substandard project, noted that, they will not be hisitant to terminate any poor job contract.
