National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has delivered over 155,020 litres of liquid gel fertiliser to Jigawa state government for onward distribution to farmers affected by flood disaster in the state.
Speaking while handing over the fertiliser to the state government,, the Director-General (DG) NEMA, Hajiya Zaubaida Umar said, the commodity was part of the intervention given to flood victims which started since 2018 in the state.
The DG who was represented by Director Admin and Finance Mr Sani Jiba, said, the fertilizer was part of the intervention given to the farmers affected by flood inorder to support them for reviving and improving their livelihood .
” This liquid fertilizer is a balance of NPK fertiliser approved for the state under the National Food Security Council-Emergency Agricultural Intervention (NFSC-EAI) to farmers affected by 2018 flood in the state”
” Each one litre of the liquid fertiliser is equivalent to 50kg of NPK 20-10-10 fertiliser”.
“It is my pleasure to handover the 155,020 litres of liquid gel fertiliser to you for onward distribution to the targeted farmers ,” the DG said
In his respond the Jigawa state governor Malam Umar Namadi thanks NEMA and Federal Government for the fertilizer donation which will complement the effort of the state government on empowering people through their own business.
The governor who was represented by his deputy, His Excellency Engr Aminu Usman added that,the items will be handed over to State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) for onward distribution to the registered beneficiaries. in Auyo, Kafinhausa and Miga local government areas of the state.
