The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, prosecuted 125 cases of rape, vandalism, theft, murder/culpable homicide and other civil and criminal offenses between January and December 2025.

The Jigawa State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa, disclosed this while briefing journalists on the Command’s achievements and challenges in the outgoing year.

He stated that the Command has become more proactive in crime prevention, leading to a reduction in criminal cases compared to 2024.

Mr. Ingawa added that during the year under review, the Command trained over 9,000 private guards involved in school security and the protection of other public and private facilities.

The Command also aborted more than 30 attempted acts of vandalism targeting power lines, water supply facilities, and other public infrastructure, resulting in numerous recoveries.

He noted that the successes achieved during the year were made possible through synergy and collaboration with other sister security agencies, as well as support from the general public.

Mr. Kabiru also commended the Jigawa State Government for donating four brand-new Toyota Hilux vehicles, including one assigned to the School Security Response Centre coordinated by the NSCDC.

“We also extend our appreciation to certain individuals, local governments, and Emirates for donating vehicles, constructing offices, and providing logistical support. These contributions have boosted the morale of our personnel and created a more enabling working environment,” he said.

The NSCDC Commandant reassured the people of Jigawa State that the Command will redouble its strategic efforts in the coming year to ensure sustainable peace and stability across the state and Nigeria as a whole.
