In preparation for the forthcoming 16th August 2025 By-election for Garki Babura federal constituency in Jigawa state, the All Progressive Congress (APC) and New Nigeria People Party ( NNPP) have conducted their primary Election on 19th July 2025 in according to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
Alhaji RABIU Mukhtar Garki emerged as an All progressive Congress (APC) flag bearer during the primary election conducted by the party in Babura town.
Declaring the election, the chairman election committee sent by the APC national headquarters Hon Ismailia Ahmad Gadaka said. the total of 110 delegates were accredited and casted their votes in the primary.
” Alhaji RABIU Mukhtar Garki who stand as a soul candidate scored all the 110 votes and having satisfied all the requirements laid down by APC he stand declared as a winner of the primary election” Gadaka declared.
Speaking shortly after declaring the election, the Chairman All Progressive Congress Jigawa state Chapter Hon Aminu Sani Gumel said, the election was conducted peacefully and all party members are satisfied by the outcome.
Sani Gumel noted that, despite having confidence on winning the election, APC will also go round all the 22 political wards in the constituency for campaign and assuring the people that, the candidate if elected will work in according to APC manifesto and Governor Malam Umar Namadi lled administration”s manifesto..
Similarly the New Nigeria People Party conducted it’s primary in Babura town during which Salisu Sabo won the election unopposed.
The chief returning officer for ANPP Garki, Babura primary election Hon Muhammad Sunusi Gako declared that, Salisu Sabo scored a total number of 114 votes casted during the election and also returned as party flag bearer for the incoming Garki/ Babura federal constituency By-election.
In his acceptance speech Salisu Sabo of NNPP promised to work with all his party members and good people of Garki/ Babura constituency for winning the secondary education.
The Garki/ Babura by election followed the death of member representing the arae Hon ISA Dogon Yaro on 9th May 2024 and now INEC fixed 16th August 2025 for By-election.
