RECOVERY OF UNEXPLODED ORDINANCE (UXO’S) IN DALA AND GWANGE AREA, MAIDUGURI*
The Borno State Police Command recovers 8 Unexploded Ordinance in Dala and Gwange Area, Maiduguri. CP ML YUSUFU re-assures public of their safety and security.
On 22/11/2024, at about 0843hrs, the Borno State Police Command received a distress call about some unidentified objects/items suspected to be Explosive Ordnance seen clustered near an uncomplicated building in Dala – Abuja Talakawa Area, Maiduguri. The Command EOD – CBRN Base 13 Maiduguri swiftly moved to the scene where 6 projectiles and 1 unexploded mortar bomb were recovered to a safer ground.
Similarly, On same date at about 1300hrs, The Command received another distress call from Gwange Area that an unidentified object suspected to be unexploded ordnance sighted, washed ashore in Gwange river bank, the Command EOD-CRRN Base 13 Maiduguri quickly swung into action, swept the area and recovered one unexploded Hand Grenade (UXO’s).
Preliminary Investigations further reveals that the Ordnance were washed ashore by the recent devastating flood incident in the state. Members of

The Borno State Commissioner of Police CP Yusufu Mohammed Lawal further re-assures the Command’s commitment in ensuring Public safety and security of all and sundry.
