Two opposition parties won 5 Councillors as ruling All Progressive Congress APC won all the 27 Chairmanship and 281 out of 287 councillorship contested by 11 political parties in the last Saturday 5th October local government council election held in Jigawa state.
APGA won one councilor of Margadu ward in Guri local government, while Accord Party won 4 councilorship included: Ajaura ward in Taura Local Government, Kanwa ward in Jahun local government, Maiaduwa ward in Gagarawa local government and Guntusu ward of Gwaiwa local government.
The election results was declared at the respective local government headquarters and political ward coalition centre across the 27 local government area of the state.
According to the results obtained from the Jigawa State Independent Electoral Commission (JISEC) shows that the winner of the councilors hip of Dubantu ward in Hadejia local government was not declared due to disagreement over the results coalition and destruction of some ballot boxes.
How ever the Executive Chairman of JISEC Hon Auwalu Muhammad Harbo has already presented certificate of returned to all the winners of the 27 local government chairman seats.
Commenting on the outcome of the election, the Chairman Jigawa state All Progressive Congress APC Hon Aminu Sani Gumel congratulate his party members for the overwhelming victory.

“, Jigawa people have confidence on our party and our Leader Governor Namadi and his 12 point agenda designed to make Jigawa Great, therefore they can not make mistake of voting party that lack manifesto or clare blueprint for the development of Jigawa state” Hon Gumel stated.
However all efforts to reach the state chairmen of People Democratic Party PDP and that of New Nigerian People’s Party for comment on the outcome of the election prove abortive as their phone number was not going, and also not respond to the text message as at the time of filing this story.
The election was conducted peaceful and the winners of the 27 local government chairmanship will be swear-in on Monday 7th October 2024
