Jigawa state governor Malam Umar Namadi has called for concerted effort to address youth unemployment and restrictiveness across Nigeria for achieving peace and sustainable development.
The governor made the remarks while speaking at ongoing Africa Food Systems Forum Summit held in Kigali, Rwanda.
According to the statement issued by the state Commissioner for information youth sports and culture, Hon Sagiru Musa said, the governor has emphasized that, Government at all levels and other critical stakeholders must look at the immediate opportunity to promote jobs creation for achieving peace and sustainable development.
Governor Namadi added that, Jigawa state has position agriculture as cornerstone for state economic development as the state has much comparative advantage in the sector.”
In view of that, we offere various incentives and empowerment packages encourage young people to embrace agriculture as a viable business opportunity in the state”.
“We are also committed in transforming Jigawa State’s agricultural sector by providing access to simple and affordable modern farm inputs, implement and technology for improving the sector, fostering broader economic development and youth empowerment”.””
