Police Kills Five Suspected Kidnappers Arrest Others In Jigawa
Jigawa state police command has bursted into camps of suspected kidnappers around Garki and Sule Tankarkar local government areas of the state killed five and arrested five suspects after heavy gun battle.
The state commissioner of police AT ABDULLAHI, psc revealed this while breifing newsmen on the update of the commands operation accross the state.
He revealed that, on 16th May 2025 at about 12 hour they received an intelligent information that, a gang of suspected kidnappers numbering about 12 on motor cycles has bugled in to house of one Mrs Hajiya Hajara 80 year old of Munjibir local government Kano state and kidnapped her.
The commissioner noted that, the information gathered revealed that the suspected kidnappers carried the old woman to a bush around Danzom and Garki area where they used as their deen for terrorizing people.
CP stated that, upun receiving the intelligence information they moblized police men from Garki, Gumel Gagarawa, Maigatari and Sule Tankarkar command and conducted the operation with support From Vigilante,Hunters Association and Yanbulala.
According to him the operation led to the rescue of the kidnapped victims in good health, , while 5 members of notorious kidnapping syndicate lost their lives while five suspects were arrested including the kingpin, Yahya ‘m’ age 35yrs of Katore Fulani settlement, Garki LGA, who eventually sustained a leg injury.
” The recovery made during the encounter included Two (2) AK-47 rifles, One (1) Multipurpose Machine Gun , Fourteen (14) live ammunition ,Two (2) motorcycles,, Three (3) mobile handsets suspected to belong to victims and/or suspects” CP stated
He however revealed that, 14 suspect were arrested on alleged criminal conspiracy and possession of hards drugs during a police raids conducted at black spots and criminal hideouts in Sara town and Gwaram Sabuwa both in Gwaram LGA.
The recovery made during the raids included Three hundred and eighty (380) pieces of Exol 5, Three hundred and thirty (330) D5 Valium, Forty four (44) pieces of Tramadol, Eighty four (84) pieces of Robber Solution, large Quantity of dry leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp, Three liters of Sock and Die.
“We also arrested one Abdulhamid Aliyu ‘m’ age 40yrs of Sara town t on alleged locked and tortured of his biological son, one Aliyu Abdulhamid ‘m’ age 7yrs, who spent five days in detention since on 29/04/2025, as a result, he sustained various degrees of injuries on his face, body and feet, The victim was rescued and rushed to FMC Birnin Kudu for medical treatment”
” In another development the state police command has arrested one Halilu Da’u ‘m’ age 25yrs, Abubakar Abdullahi ‘m’ age 20yrs, Muazu Aliyu ‘m’ age 25yrs and Mu’azu Garba ‘m’ age 21yrs all of Sundumina town, B/Kudu LGA in possession of one hundred and sixty-three 100 notes of counterfeited US Dollars and two original 100 notes of US Dollars” CP stated.
Similarly the Commissioner stated that, On 12/5/25 at about 1700hrs The , patrol team attached to Babura Division, arrested one Ibrahim Yahaya ‘m’ age 48yrs of Gwale LGA Kano in possession of Counterfeited one thousand-naira notes amounting to one million one hundred and thirty-two thousand naira (₦1,132,000.00), One counterfeit of one hundred note of US Dollar, Fourteen pieces of Egyptian Pounds. Total seventy (70) Pounds, The sum of sixty thousand naira (₦ 60,000.00), Six ATM cards of different banks,
The commissioner attributed the success recorded to the cooperation and support from community, sister security agencies, Jigawa state government and the dedication and patriotism of policemen in the state
