His Royal Highness the Shehu of Dikwa, Alhaji Ibrahim Ibn Umar Ibrahim Elkanemi Has Called on His Subjects to Present Their Children for Vaccination
The monarch made the assertion while flagging off the polio vaccination campaign of the fifth Outbreak Response (OBR5), on Saturday 30, November 2024, in Cingo Zarmaye word Dikwa town, the headquarters of the Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State.
However, the royal father Called the district heads, community leaders, heads of various organisations, religious bodies, individuals, and families to play a vital role in mobilising mothers and carers to join the polio campaign.
He commended Governor Babagana Umara Zulum’s commitment to ensure the improved health and safety of children across Borno State, further stating that the campaign is timely.
Alhaji Ibrahim Ibn Umar Ibrahim El Kanemi noted that polio is a preventable disease through vaccination saying immunisation is the best protection against polio and therefore recommended infants and children to take the immunisation in order to protect them from the harmful effects of polio disease.
Mallam Gado Bulama, State Supervisor from the Primary Health Care Development Board, called on health workers to ensure that children are immunized according to their health profession.
The Director of Primary health Care, Dikwa Local Government, Ya Gana Ibrahim, represented by the Local Immunization Officer, Baba Mallam Baba, appealed to the community to present their children for immunization.
Health Educator Dikwa local government who is also Mala Kashim of Dikwa called on Parent to use the immunisation period and get their Children immunised.
