All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) Jigawa state chapter has vowed to collaborate with security agencies to fish out suspected fraudsters going round and extorting money from farmers in the state<\/p>\n

This was contained in a press statement issued by the AFAN state chairman Engineer Auwal Garba Ibrahim to decisively dealt with the suspected fraudsters.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He explained that, AFAN strongly condemn this illegal, inhuman and unethical behaviour., added that , the syndicate i are not legitimate leaders\/agents of their association<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Engr Auwal said the association observed with dismay on how the suspected fraudsters going round the state impersonating as an AFAN leaders collecting money from farmers in the name of registration for special Agricultural Intervention.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
According to him the program mention for registration by the fraudsters is fake and not existing anywhere, and called on the farmers to report the suspects to any nearest AFAN executive of security agency.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“Engr Auwal described the he activities of such fraudsters is capable of creating mistrust between farmers and leaders which is tantamount to undermine the Jigawa state and federal government policy on agriculture.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“We want to make it clear that the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Jigawa State Chapter has no such practice, and we do not charge farmers for any of our services or support programs by the Federal or State Government or any organization”<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“We strongly condemn this illegal, inhuman and unethical behaviour. The syndicate involved in this extortion scheme are not legitimate leaders\/agents of our association in any capacity”.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“We urge farmers and the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately to local authorities and our office” Engr Auwal declared<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The chairman however assured farmers that, AFAN will continue to provide transparent and ethical assistance, free of charge, as enshrined in the association constitution<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
AFAN also commended Jigawa state Governor Malam Umar Namadi for his support to farmers and broader agenda of transforming the state agriculture to modern and viable business for food security and economic growth.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The association promised to continue collaborating with the governor in repositioning and improving Jigawa state Agricultural sector.<\/p>\n
