Trade Union Congress of Nigeria through its corporative Society LTD in collaboration with Federal Mortgage Bank has laid foundation for the construction of 59 Housing Estate for civil servant in Dutse capital of Jigawa state.<\/p>\n

Speaking at ground breaking ceremony for the 1st phase of the Housing Estate the state Governor Malam Umar Namadi described the project as welcome development in promoting the wellbeing of the civil servants.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Governor Namadi who was represented by his Senior Special Adviser on Labor Matters Comrade Tsoho Garba said, his Government will give all necessary support for actualizing the project that has great benefits to the civil servants and state in general.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
According to him, the state government is currently executing similar project of over 1,500 housing units at five Emirates and some major towns in the state, with aim of providing affordable houses to civil servants .<\/p>\n

In his remarks the state Head of Civil Servant Muhammad K. Dagacire said, provision of affordable and decent accomodations is very imperative in enhancing the welfare of civil servants which In returned will give them courage and comfortability to provide the best service delivery to the public.<\/p>\n

In His address the Chairman Trade Union Congress of Nigeria Jigawa state chapter Comrade Bashir rTijjani Abubakar revealed that, the idea of the project was conceived out of the overwhelming interest of TUC national headquarters to pursue for the wellbeing of the workers.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Comrade Bashir noted that, TUC in partnership with Federal Mortgage Bank and private developers are expected to deliver the houses within one year for the benefits of the workers.<\/p>\n

The Managing Director Federal Mortgage Bank Mr Shehu Usman Osidi in his remarks at the occasion said, they have sofar financed about six different housing east project in Dutse capital of Jigawa state.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The MD who was represented by the Northwest regional Manager of the Bank noted that, the civil servants Housing Estate will be 100 percent funded by the Bank and they are the only institutions in Nigeria that are providing housing loan below 10 percent interest.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
” Beside financing for such housing eastate project we also have other packages for civil servants,these included: House renovation loan, Individual Housing Construction and owners occupiers, all with soul aim of assisting our cor-partners (civil servants) to have an affordable and decent accomodations” Mr Usman stated.<\/p>\n
